Two-axle gyro-stabilized suspension system
Two-axle gyro-stabilized suspension system (GSS) for radar antennas of helicopter. GSS stabilizes antenna system and protects it from external impacts (shocks, vibrations, etc.) that, in its turn, significantly increases operational accuracy of radar system.
The purpose of GSS:
- Change in antenna angular position in target designation and lock-on mode;
- Antenna position control in automatic target tracking mode;
- Antenna gyro-stabilization in inert coordinate system with no control signals;
- Determination and output of data on antenna angular position relative to the base coordinate system to the radar data system.
