GPAP

GPAP

The hardware and software GPAP system with a gyrostabilized antenna is an on-board system for continuous and reliable reception of satellite television signals. The system has been developed to provide ships with the capacity to reliably and continuously receive satellite television signals, even during the ship's movement. The GPAP guarantees stable reception of television signal all over the world (within the satellite coverage zone).

The GPAP includes a satellite antenna installed on three-axis gyrostabilized supports; moreover, the control of the focal axis of the antenna by azimuth and elevation angle is executed from the hardware part of the complex.

The system provides the following capabilities:
  • stabilization of the focal axis of the antenna in the inertial space;
  • manual or automatic pointing of the antenna towards the satellite;
  • automatic tracking of the satellite during the ship's movement.

The gyrostabilized antenna is protected against the influences of wind and rain with a radio-transparent shelter.
